Fall Season Update

Southridge Youth Football Family,

"It is with much regret to inform you that Tualatin Valley Youth Football League (TVYFL) will not host a youth tackle season this fall. (TVYFL) has determined that hosting a season as we have been planning is just not possible.  With countless reasons, we are prevented from starting this season: player health concerns related to COVID-19, insurance and liability concerns, safety equipment and field use issues, inability to have spectators, as well as the ever-changing State and local health guidelines.  There are too many unknowns at this time to proceed with planning a fall season." 


This was a decision made by TVYFL, and no individual association had a say.  TVYFL is looking at hosting a spring season mirroring the Oregon School Activities Association (OSAA) calendar (see attachment), however no decisions have yet been made.


With that information we as a Board have decided to go forward with our refund options posted below and on the website:


1) Donate your registration fee. As a non-profit, Southridge Youth Football is funded largely by registration fees.  Please consider donating your fee to cover costs of already-made purchases, ie. uniforms, equipment, taxes, insurance, organizational costs.  This donation would be tax-deductible.

2) Credit for next year's season.  We would love to apply your registration fee to next year's 2021 season, whether that be in the Spring or the Fall. 

3) Refund:  You can receive a refund minus the cost of a jersey which would be yours to keep; $50 for tackle.  Flag players would receive a full refund.

OR You can receive a refund minus a service fee which will be credited to your registration fee for the 2021 season; $50 for tackle.


If you choose a refund, please allow time to process your request due to the volume of emails and very real financial considerations.  Refunds will be processed in the order the request is received.  

4) Partial/ Combination of any of the above options  

Unless you are registering an 8th grader, we urge you to take the Credit for next year.

Even without a fall season, there were essential expenses we had to pay in anticipation of a season (non-profit fees, taxes, insurance, uniforms and other organizational costs), and we, as an organization, do not have reserve funds to cover these costs.  


We are all saddened and disappointed that our children will miss the opportunity to be on a team this fall.  As an encouragement, we want to remind you that this will eventually end and football will be back.

We must do what we can now and continue fundraising to help keep the cost down for future registration. Be on the lookout for the next email with fundraising opportunities!!
